2015

In 2015, Travels to my Elephant kicked off for the very first time, with a series of events that roared through the streets of central London and journeyed through the jungles of Madhya Pradesh, in the heart of India.

Launched by Elephant Family Patron, Goldie Hawn, a fleet of elephant-infused rickshaws charmed Londoners over the summer appearing at parades, events, shops and hotels across the capital before being auctioned at an event hosted by TRH The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall. This first adventure was undertaken by scores of intrepid racers who made a wild, 500km journey in 49 rickshaws across India to meet the elephant who started it all, Tarain her Kipling Camp home.

Together, Elephant Family and Quintessentially Foundation raised £1.3million for Asia’s endangered elephants and the communities that share their forest homes, inspiring almost 700 million people globally, who followed our progress and heard our conservation message.

2017

Travels to my Elephant returned in 2017 at full speed! Thirty-five teams with thirty-five themes embarked on yet another eccentric odyssey with Ben Elliot, Zac Goldsmith, Nicholas Coleridge, Waris Ahluwalia and Joshua Jackson all taking the wheel – or handlebars – to drive through Rajasthan’s most beautiful landscapes in search of adventure and to support Elephant Family’s mission to save the Asian elephant

The convoy flagged off at Mehrangarh Fort with HH Maharaja Sri Gaj Singhji II of Jodhpur and spluttered across the finish line to a welcome party hosted by HH Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh Ji Bahadur of Jaipur. Travels II raised £1m for Elephant Family’s partners across Asia.
